We’re thrilled to announce that Forbes Travel Guide has revealed their Four-Star Ratings for 2021 and we have received two of these coveted awards, one for our all-inclusive resort and one for our luxurious Gem Spa. This is the first year the resort itself has received this honor, while Gem Spa has garnered it every year since 2017.
Forbes Travel Guide, the world-renowned expert in Five-Star service announced its 2020 Star Awards in February. They are now adding to the prestigious award list by revealing some 2021 winners early in order to provide inspiration for post-pandemic travel. The early winners for 2021 were inspected prior to COVID-19 closures.
The annual Global Star Rating system has been recognizing exceptional hotels, restaurants and spas around the world since 1958 after they’ve been evaluated by a team of professional inspectors. Properties are rated regularly using up to 800 criteria to establish a global benchmark for luxury travel, providing discerning travelers the tools with which to make informed destination decisions.

Designed for children 3 – 12 or “Gen Z-ers,” the club takes make-believe and the playground concept to another level with 21st Century technology. Aspiring archeologists, budding paleontologists and kids who simply enjoy spending time outdoors will be able to dig for fossils, romp through a mini jungle around a replica of a Maya temple and explore small caves. A “spray-around” area offers a place to cool off in a large wading pool surrounded by refreshing fountains and waterfalls.
