The recipient – since 2007 – of the coveted AAA Five Diamond Award, our French specialty restaurant offers a tasty selection of unique cuisine created by Celebrity Chef Henri Charvet, Maître Cuisinier de France.
Named for southern France’s delicate basil plant, the elegant avant-garde ambiance, soft piano music and attentive service set the perfect stage for the “haute cuisine” dining experience you’ll find here.
The checkerboard black and white marble floor, combined with art-deco clam-shell chairs, soft linens, shimmering candlelight and contemporary artwork scattered throughout the French bistro, pave the way for an exceptional culinary journey.
Start your “adventure” with one of our tasty soups such as artichoke cream with black truffle or lobster consommé with vermicelli pasta, lemon grass and ginger – or if you prefer – indulge in a tender foie gras with tequila gelé.
Follow that up with California oysters in a lettuce leaf with vanilla and lemon butter or, perhaps a delicately seasoned lobster salad with crunchy green cabbage, orange, coriander and pine nuts.
For your entrée, we offer many choices. For seafood lovers, options range from grilled salmon enhanced by capers, cantaloupe and watermelon with pepper and mint; fine sea bass fillet with zucchini pearls and basil foam, or a filet of sole with caviar and pumpkin flower stuffed with shrimp mousseline.
Meat lovers should try our succulent roasted Angus beef fillet with black pepper and potato gratin or the delicious organic chicken with creamy morel mushroom sauce and pumpkin blinis.
Top off your meal with a decadent “Henri Charvet” dark chocolate cake with mint sauce, or a quince mille feuille with watermelon sorbet, or our delectable sweet papaya meringue. The choices are many!
