We’re kicking off 2021 with some new, revitalizing treatments in our award-winning Gem Spa! Drawing on our destination’s ancient heritage and time-honored rituals, we’re introducing a slate of indigenous treatments sure to aid the body and the soul.

Throughout history people have flocked to spas to soothe whatever ailed them, for pampering or – simply for a “social happening.” Mexico’s ancient cultures were way ahead of the game. They employed the temazcál (from “temazcalli” meaning “steam house” in Nahuatl) – a purifying steam bath – to heal the body and cleanse the mind and soul.

Fortunately, rejuvenation and pampering aren’t just a diversion in this area – it’s a way of life. The area’s magic combined with its natural beauty sets the stage for the vast array of therapeutic treatments you’ll find here. The clever use of indigenous herbs used in these revived rituals promise modern-day road warriors spiritual as well as physical relief.

Fortunately, our guests can tap into some of these revered healing rituals in a series of soothing body wraps and massages. We’ve also added revitalizing facials combining the past with the today’s renowned Forld’d skincare line.

Some of the spa treatments you can indulge in include:

  • Maya Jade Four Hands Massage – 80 minutes

Honored by Maya culture as the “sovereign of harmony,” jade is said to soothe both the body and mind. Two therapists work together in rhythmic synchronicity using jade to produce total relaxation and beautiful rejuvenated skin.

  • Maya Gods Ritual – 120 minutes

The Maya used copal in their spiritual ceremonies to revitalize the spirit. This ritual is both hydrating and invigorating and begins with a copal exfoliation and body wrap, followed by a personalized massage using the Maya rebozo. This treatment draws its name from the traditional Mexican shawl, used in this case to heal sore muscles.

  • Maya Emperor Facial with Amethyst – 50 minutes

Known for its strengthening and invigorating properties, Amethyst is used in this specialized man’s facial to alleviate irritation from shaving and to hydrate the skin.

  • Maya Princess Massage – 50 or 80 minutes

Fit for royalty, this treatment softens and revitalizes skin while incorporating vanilla, used by the Maya as an offering to the gods. It starts with a gentle exfoliation, followed by an orange and vanilla mask applied by using specialized massage techniques.

  • Maya Prince Massage – 50 or 80 min

For centuries, the Maya used chaya, a native plant from the Yucatán Peninsula, as a medicinal herb. Known for its soothing and restorative properties, it is an excellent remedy for sunburned or stressed skin. A gentle body exfoliation is paired with an invigorating massage using a chaya-based mud.

Hydrotherapy Ritual –

Included at no charge with any spa treatment is the 10-step Hydrotherapy Ritual, which incorporates an aromatherapy steam room, clay steam room, ice room, polar plunge and pebble walkway, ending in the comforting “pool of sensations.”

The healing properties of hydrotherapy are based on the “thermal effects” they offer. Generally, heat quiets and soothes the body, slowing down the activity of internal organs. Cold, on the other hand, stimulates and invigorates, increasing internal activity. The combination guarantees a feeling of well-being overall.

The healing Hydrotherapy Ritual begins with a “guided circuit,” starting in the aromatherapy steam room, where you’re enveloped by a sea of warm aromatic steam. Following, step into a multi-jet cold water shower to awaken your senses and close your pores before you’re led into a clay steam room, where you’ll start feeling your exhaustion peel away. When you’re done, rinse off under the water jets of a tepid rain shower, before stepping into the warm embrace of a hot sauna.

The hot sauna and frosty ice room follow – to close your pores and accelerate your metabolism. The final steps take you to a bubbling hot Jacuzzi and a brief ice water plunge, ending in a pebble walk with soft warm water jets caressing your calves and toes.

The “grand finale” lands lands you in the Pool of Sensations, where you soak in a large pool filled with bubbles, geysers, waterfalls and cervical water jets, designed to massage your body in four different stages.

When you’re done, relax on plush spa lounges in the relaxation lounge area, where fresh juices and fruit await you.

Special Promotion –

We’re also offering a special promotion inviting you to save up to 60% off of your room allowing up to two kids under 12 years to old stay, eat and play for free when sharing a room with at least one adult.
